winterforever, an emo and post-hardcore band formed in Boise, Idaho in 2018, have shared the music video for their latest single, "Stutterstep." The clip premiered via Chorus.fm.

The track pairs bright guitars with heavy bass and drums, while the lyrics dig into loss, loneliness and existential dread. The arrangement was built to feel unsteady on purpose, starting, hesitating and then starting again.

"'Stutterstep' is meant to feel uncomfortable," the band said of the song. According to the group, it captures the moment when you know what you need to do but think twice because comfort has set in and change feels too hard, a cycle that can drag on for years. The lyrics also address stepping away from addiction and the weight of letting yourself and the people you love down.

winterforever have toured the United States multiple times and played notable sets at Treefort Music Fest and Heading East Fest. The band signed with Heading East Records for their last release, Home Feels Like A Luxury Hotel, and recently finished recording its follow-up, which is expected later this year.

"Stutterstep" serves as the first taste of that upcoming record, showing a group that pairs blunt writing about difficult subjects with arrangements that swing between melody and weight.
