Wednesday announce deluxe edition of Bleeds packed with demos and remixes
The expanded version arrives Friday (Sept. 18) via Dead Oceans and features reworks from Gouge Away, Fire-Toolz, Avey Tare and more
Wednesday have confirmed a deluxe edition of Bleeds, landing this Friday (Sept. 18) through Dead Oceans. The reissue widens the record with a batch of band demos plus a run of guest remixes.
Leading the announcement is "June 2 (Early Version)," out now and produced by Kenneth Blume. The track offers a first look at the early-stage material included in the package, showing how the songs sounded before they were finished.
The remix side pulls from wildly different corners: Joe Harvey-Whyte, DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ, Gouge Away, Fire-Toolz, Andy Loebs and Avey Tare all contribute. Having both a hardcore-rooted act and an Animal Collective member on the same tracklist gives a sense of how far the band were willing to stretch the material.
Wednesday remain busy on the road through the end of the year, with dates across South America and Mexico. After that, the group will open for Tyler Childers before heading out on a co-headlining run with Mannequin Pussy.
The deluxe edition of Bleeds arrives on streaming platforms Friday.
