The Chin Chins, Tré Cool's New Band, Announce Debut Album 'Hellcat'

The eight-track record arrives on November 6, with the title track already out and tour dates lined up with Stray Cats and The Interrupters

The Chin Chins, the new band featuring Green Day drummer Tré Cool, have unveiled their debut album. Titled 'Hellcat', it is due on November 6, just days after the announcement.

The record runs eight tracks deep: 'Hellcat', 'Bye Bye Blues', 'Out Of Time', 'Dancing With The Dark', 'Crazy When She Drinks', 'Wheels', 'Guts & Grit' and 'Snakebite'. The title cut is available now, blending rhythm, blues and punk rock energy into a rockabilly-leaning anthem.

Vocalist Sara Rose explained that 'Hellcat' was the final song tracked, recorded after the band believed the album was already finished. She said the idea arrived late and that the group knew immediately it was something special, describing the song as unapologetic, provocative and a celebration of strength.

Tré Cool addressed his decision to join up, saying the chemistry was clear from the first jam session. He also noted with a wink that the last band he filled in for was Green Day, which worked out reasonably well.

The Chin Chins will spend the coming months on the road. In November they support Stray Cats across dates in Grand Prairie, San Antonio, Sugar Land, Biloxi, Memphis, Louisville, Nashville and Charlotte. The band then opens for The Interrupters in April and May 2027, with shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Anaheim.
