Split Dogs set second album "Nice N' Rough" for release on Venn Records
The follow-up to "Here To Destroy" arrives September 25 with thirteen tracks, all but one clocking in under three minutes.
Split Dogs will release their second album, "Nice N' Rough", on September 25 through Venn Records. The record follows debut full-length "Here To Destroy", which spent more than a year building the band a reputation on the live circuit.
The album collects thirteen songs, and every one of them except a single track runs under three minutes. That compact approach is central to the record, which leans on short bursts of energy rather than extended arrangements. Titles on the tracklist include "Be Somebody", "Born To Lose", "Breaker", "Get The Look", "Leave It Alone", "Rock N Roll Business" and "Suffer".
The band features Harry Martinez on vocals, Mil Martinez on guitar, Suez Boyle on bass and Chris Hugall on drums. Their sound sits in raw garage rock and roll territory, with theatrical vocal delivery, boogie-leaning guitar work and a rhythm section that moves as a single unit.
Split Dogs have been drawing attention through repeated live shows since the debut, and "Nice N' Rough" now stands as the group's second-album test. The release is being positioned as the record that could push the band well beyond the DIY punk circuit where it made its name.
