Spanish Love Songs have released "Welcome To Hell", the latest single from their upcoming full-length "Future Nausea". The track is out now on streaming platforms, with the album due November 6 through Pure Noise Records.

The band describes the song as a bar-band rock tune, and it serves as a marker for the new sounds explored across the record. "Future Nausea" was produced by Chris Walla, of Death Cab for Cutie, alongside Sarah Tudzin, of Illuminati Hotties.

Vocalist Dylan Slocum said he wanted a song that could thematically ease the pressure of the album. According to him, writing anything even vaguely political means walking a narrow line, and the band works hard to avoid finger-wagging. The group, he explained, tells stories about people fighting their way through life rather than handing out absolute answers.

Slocum also walked through the lyrics. The song opens with someone like him in an attack on cynicism, then turns to the changes being forced on people by techno-oligarchs in the name of profit, before closing with a question: whether everyone is settling for a worse world in exchange for convenience, or apathy.

On the recording process, the singer credited Walla with pushing the band out of its production comfort zone by demanding confidence and clarity. That energy, he said, carried the group toward what he considers the best version of the band they have ever had.
