Snooper drop "Mouth Closed" ahead of Bitch Cabal tour dates

Nashville punk outfit Snooper have released a new single called "Mouth Closed," arriving just before the band heads out as the opening act on the Bitch Cabal tour led by Mannequin Pussy and Wednesday.

The track leans into the relentless approach the group is known for, built on a drum-machine beat with pep-rally insistence, a tempo made for pogoing and heavily corroded vocals designed to be screamed back by a crowd. The overall effect lands somewhere between electroclash and basement punk played at high speed.

The single comes with a video directed by Teddy Cruz, shot in a deliberately low-tech, hyperactive style. Ashley J. Dengate and Caia Cupolo appear performing their own choreography, made up of looping movements that resemble animated gifs.

"Mouth Closed" follows "Recess," the jittery single Snooper put out in July. It remains unclear whether the two tracks are one-off releases or whether they will eventually be folded into a larger project.

Snooper's most recent album, Worldwide, arrived last year. The band has stayed active since then, and the newer material is expected to show up in their sets during the upcoming run of shows with Mannequin Pussy and Wednesday.
