Public Acid drop new EP Pay No More as Invertebrates answer with Accosted

Public Acid have released Pay No More, a new EP from the hardcore punk band that formed in Raleigh and is now based in Richmond. The record is out via Beach Impediment and follows Deadly Struggle, the 2024 full-length that landed on year-end hardcore lists.

Pay No More keeps the group's messy, chaotic basement-punk approach intact, with nothing routine about the attack. The band's sound often gets traced back to Japanese and Scandinavian hardcore, though the EP works best as a raw, primal blast rather than a puzzle of influences.

The same day brought another release from the same label. Invertebrates, also from Richmond, share several members with Public Acid, record for Beach Impediment and play shows alongside them regularly. Their new EP Accosted collects seven songs built on a more direct, straightforward version of the style.

Accosted follows Sick To Survive, the album Invertebrates put out in 2024. Both Pay No More and Accosted are available now through Beach Impediment.
