Nervous Eaters have put out a video for "Where's Johnny Now", the first look at their upcoming album Eat or Be Eaten, scheduled for January 15 via Wicked Cool Records. Directed by Vincent J. Straggas, the clip sets the Boston band's snarling garage rock 'n' roll against footage lifted from the 1949 crime picture Johnny Stool Pigeon.

The song itself is far from new. It was already turning up in the band's live sets by 1979, and its lyrics look back at their early years in Boston, centered on the idea of reaching a friend before they drift out of reach for good.

Frontman Steve Cataldo summed up the theme plainly: "Everybody has a Johnny in their life." The vintage noir imagery chosen for the video leans into that same mood.

Nervous Eaters have been part of the first wave of Boston punk and garage rock since the 1970s, and remain on the Wicked Cool Records roster. Eat or Be Eaten arrives January 15.
