Lychee Camp unveil "Sunday Scaries" video ahead of Halloween

The emo band's new single leans mid-tempo while keeping a big, cinematic feel, and tackles the difficulty of accepting loss.

Emo band Lychee Camp have released the music video for their new song "Sunday Scaries," which premiered exclusively through Chorus.fm just before Halloween.

The band explained that the track deals with how difficult it can be to accept loss, the feeling of someone you love no longer being there and the inability to let go. Because the subject matter was already so heavy, the group said they deliberately avoided making a video that would read as a total downer, opting instead for a more creative, outside-the-box treatment they feel turned out genuinely unique.

Musically, the band describes "Sunday Scaries" as a more mid-tempo entry in their catalog, though one that still carries a large, almost cinematic weight. The song plays to the group's established strengths, landing somewhere between early Weezer and the pop instincts associated with American Football, with enough twists of their own to keep the sound distinct.

The video for "Sunday Scaries" is out now.
