The track previews the Brighton band's EP "Weak Minds For The Weekend", due out on October 30.

Brighton's Look What Happened have released "Make It Real", a new single backed by a video. The song is the first look at the band's upcoming EP, "Weak Minds For The Weekend", scheduled for October 30.

The track is a loud, anthemic slice of pop punk built around a hook made for group vocals. Lyrically, it digs into the struggle of facing your own inner truth and living with derealisation, touching on neglected personal growth, slipping back into bad habits and the frustration of constantly getting in your own way.

The EP works along similar lines. Across the record, the band pull the pop punk they grew up on into their own world, matching the genre's energy and choruses with words about frustration, self-doubt and the effort of making sense of your own head.

The sessions were handled by producer Ian Sadler. "Our aim was to create an homage to the pop punk bands we grew up on", drummer Jack Lowe said, adding that the EP was tracked across five days in July.

"Make It Real" and its video are out now, ahead of the full EP release at the end of the month.
