Brighton pop punk five-piece Look What Happened have put out "Weak Minds For The Weekend", their new EP, which is now available across streaming platforms. The record collects five songs the band describes as a tribute to the music that shaped them.
The group points to blink-182, New Found Glory, Paramore, Lagwagon, Yellowcard, Stand Atlantic and A Loss For Words as touchstones. The hooks and pace of the genre are all there, but the lyrics lean into frustration, self-doubt and the effort of making sense of your own head.
Sessions took place in July over five days with producer Ian Sadler. "Our aim was to create an homage to the pop punk bands we grew up on," drummer Jack Lloyd said about the recording.
Taken together, the EP presents a band still working things out and being upfront about it. "Weak Minds For The Weekend" is out now on streaming services.
