Lady Susan drop "Romeo" video from debut EP "Teenage Revenge"
The Montreal band, which features former Long Story Short members, self-produced the entire release from writing all the way to mastering and visuals.
Lady Susan have put out a new video for "Romeo", a song lifted from their debut EP "Teenage Revenge". The clip gives the record its first visual companion and showcases a sound that pairs melodic alternative rock with the band's roots in the Montreal punk-rock scene.
The group is made up in part by former members of Long Story Short. According to the band, the project began as an experiment to try something different purely for fun before growing into a full release with its own identity.
"Teenage Revenge" took a little over a year to write and record, followed by almost another year before it reached listeners. Everything was handled in-house, from the songwriting and recording sessions to mixing, mastering and the videos that accompany the songs.
The band describes the EP as a reflection of each member's personality and influences, built around nuanced songwriting and unexpected structures that push against some of the conventions they grew up with. "We do this because we genuinely enjoy playing music together", they said. The "Romeo" video is out now.
