La Dispute return to Audiotree after 14 years with No One Was Driving the Car songs
The live session, titled Audiotree From Nothing, arrives to mark the record's first anniversary.
La Dispute have shared Audiotree From Nothing, their first session recorded for Audiotree in 14 years. The live performance is built around material from No One Was Driving the Car and lands on the album's first anniversary.
Four songs from the record make up the session: "Man With Hands and Ankles Bound," "Sibling Fist Fights at Mom's Fiftieth / The Un-Sound," "Landlord Calls the Sheriff In" and "I Dreamt of a Room With All My Friends I Could Not Get In." It marks the band's first return to the format since their original appearance more than a decade ago.
In a statement published alongside the session, the group framed the anniversary as a moment of reflection rather than celebration, saying they are no closer to understanding how to talk about the album. "One year now since No One came out," the band wrote.
La Dispute described the songs as seeds planted years earlier that broke through the soil last September and never stopped growing. The band said records don't simply capture the experiences and perspectives inside them but keep developing long after release, and that stepping back to watch that happen has been enriching for everyone involved.
