Jen Pop shares acoustic video for NOFX's "The Idiots Are Taking Over"

Jen Pop, the solo project of The Bombpops singer and guitarist Jen Razavi, has put out a video for her acoustic take on "The Idiot's Are Taking Over", originally recorded by NOFX. The song appears on Borrowed & Blue, an EP already available on streaming services and issued on CD and blue vinyl via Stupid Rad Merch.

The release gathers new material, covers and reworked versions of songs Razavi has played before. She recorded the whole thing at home, a choice driven by the desire to capture the way she has been performing on the road lately without losing that feel to a conventional studio approach. A newly acquired pair of cardioid condenser mics helped push the project forward.

Simon Shorts co-produced the EP and handled engineering, mixing and mastering. "Borrowed & Blue is a collection of new tunes, covers, and re-imagined versions", Razavi said of the record.

She is also booked for the Fight To Unite weekend at The Belasco in Los Angeles on October 10th. The event marks the 35th anniversary of Fat Wreck Chords and brings together label alumni including Dillinger Four, Teenage Bottlerocket, Dead To Me, Swingin' Utters, Codefendants, Cobra Skulls, Nerf Herder, Mean Jeans and Get Dead.

A portion of every ticket sold goes to Siempre Unidos LA, a nonprofit that supports immigrant families separated by ICE raids and deportations.
