Anxious Share "Secret Weapon", Their Second New Song Since "Bambi"
The track is out now through Run For Cover Records as the band crosses North America supporting Citizen, with Hotline TNT, Rocket and Cryogeyser also on the bill.
Anxious have released "Secret Weapon", a new single issued through Run For Cover Records. It arrives roughly a month after "Don't Move", and together the two songs are the band's first new material since their acclaimed second album, "Bambi".
Sonically, "Secret Weapon" leans into heavy, blown-out alternative rock, adding a riff-driven edge to the widescreen songwriting Anxious have built their reputation on.
Guitarist and co-vocalist Dante Melucci said the song takes aim at the business side of music and the way statistics and passing trends get used to define who an artist is supposed to be. He described that kind of calculated approach as desperate, adding, "I don't believe that something beautiful can be created in a lab."
The release lands mid-tour. Anxious are currently working their way across North America in support of labelmates Citizen, on a run that also features Hotline TNT, Rocket and Cryogeyser.
