Yves Tumor Off Turnstile Tour After Sexual Assault Allegations
No Warning and Obituary have stepped in for two of the three dates the musician was booked to open, while a third slot remains unfilled
Yves Tumor has been removed from Turnstile's tour following a wave of allegations that circulated online last month. The claims accuse the musician of sexual assault and abusive behavior, and one allegation involving groping was posted alongside video evidence.
The artist, who also goes by Shanti or Sean Lee Bowie, denied the accusations and said he would pursue "extreme legal action." He had been booked for three stops on the run: Sept. 12 in Toronto with Saya Gray and Pluto's Kiss, Sept. 26 in Portland, Maine with Fiddlehead, and Sept. 29 in Raleigh with Angel Du$t and Agnostic Front.
Replacements have trickled out over the past several days. Canadian hardcore punk band No Warning took the Toronto slot, and on Wednesday, Sept. 9, Tampa death metal veterans Obituary were confirmed for the Raleigh show. No替 replacement has been named for the Portland date, though Yves Tumor is no longer listed as a performer for it on Turnstile's website.
The tour was announced in June with a rotating cast of openers across the itinerary, including Slayyyter, Clipse, Vince Staples, Thundercat, Nourished By Time, and Porches. The mix of hardcore, rap, and left-field pop acts reflects the wide net Turnstile has cast as the band's audience has grown well beyond punk rooms.
