X2 Fast release new single "Attention Span" via Manic Kat Records
The UK quintet leans on punchy guitars and big hooks, pulling from 2000s pop-punk and easycore without sounding stuck in the past.
UK quintet X2 Fast have put out a new single, "Attention Span", now streaming via Manic Kat Records. The track sticks to what the band does best: punchy guitars, soaring hooks and the high-energy mix of pop-punk and easycore that defines their sound.
The song pulls from the throwback version of the genre, the one most listeners associate with the 2000s, while keeping its production and delivery firmly in the present. It is a reference point, not a costume.
The release was timed to ADHD Awareness Month, and the subject runs through the lyrics. Vocalist Nat Billings described the song as summing up the experience of growing up and trying to function in everyday life. "Can't wait for you all to hear it," he said.
"Attention Span" is available now on all major streaming platforms.
