wakelee have announced a new album, under construction forever, due October 9 on Wax Bodega. The Brooklyn band introduced the record with lead single "Joyce Kilmer Service Area," paired with a video directed by Gabe Drechsler.

The song lays out the band's approach plainly: emo that isn't afraid to roll around in pop-punk muck, built on hooks, angst and anthemic forward momentum. There are traces of PUP's jittery, neck-snapping intensity in the arrangement, filtered through an ultra-catchy pop-rock frame.

The overlap with Hot Mulligan's nasal pop-punk aesthetic isn't accidental. That band's guitarist, Chris Freeman, handled additional production on under construction forever alongside Zach Aumueller, and wakelee will hit the road with Hot Mulligan this fall.

The album runs 11 tracks: "Sundial," "Yes It Does," "Joyce Kilmer Service Area," "Decision Tree," "See It Now," "Box Fan," "Statue," "I Will Get Out Of Your Way," "080808," "Paella" and "Glitterbox." Pre-orders are live now.
