Travis Barker surprises 14-year-old drummer with his dream kit
The teenager has been playing for nine years without owning a kit and helps care for his mother, who lives with multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia
Travis Barker surprised a 14-year-old drummer with the gift of a full drum kit, in a moment captured on video and shared online this week.
The teenager has been playing for nine years but had never been able to afford an instrument of his own. Alongside his pursuit of music, he helps care for his mother, who lives with multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia.
In the clip, his mother describes how her health conditions have led her son to take on responsibilities far beyond his age, including helping her get out of bed and handling everyday tasks around the house.
The video was posted on Instagram by content creator Dhar Mann, who produced the surprise. The blink-182 drummer has taken part in similar gestures aimed at young musicians who lack access to gear.
No details were released about the specific kit handed to the teenager or the city where the meeting was filmed.
