The Format share a cover of Jimmy Eat World's "Your House"
Nate Ruess and Sam Means take on one of the quieter songs in the Jimmy Eat World catalog.
The Format have released a cover of Jimmy Eat World's "Your House." The track arrives as a standalone recording, linking two acts long associated with the Arizona alternative rock scene.
The song choice is notable. "Your House" sits among the more restrained entries in the Jimmy Eat World discography, built on atmosphere and space rather than hooks, which leaves plenty of room for reinterpretation by another band.
The Format, the duo of Nate Ruess and Sam Means, went quiet for years before returning to the stage more recently. Since then, occasional recordings and one-off releases have been the group's preferred way of staying in front of listeners who followed the band during its original run.
No further details have been announced about whether the cover is tied to a larger project or an upcoming release. For now, it stands on its own and is available to stream.
