The Bollweevils' Daryl Wilson picks the four records that shaped him on Four Records
Episode 27 of the Dying Scene podcast finds the singer talking Angry Samoans, Naked Raygun and Drug Church while prepping the debut album from his new band, Pressure Set
Daryl Wilson, frontman of Chicago punk mainstays The Bollweevils, is the guest on episode 27 of Four Records, the Dying Scene podcast that asks each guest to name four albums that shaped them at four different points in their life. The episode is streaming now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Podbean, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio.
For his earliest years, Wilson went with the various-artists Heavy Metal soundtrack. His teenage pick is Back From Samoa by the Angry Samoans, and his twenties are represented by Naked Raygun's Jettison. Asked for a recent favorite, he named Cheer by Drug Church.
Wilson also has a new band in motion. Pressure Set will release its self-titled debut on October 2, with physical copies available through Dr. Strange Records.
Several live dates are already on the books. On October 23, 2026, Wilson plays The Fest at Vivid Music Hall in Gainesville, Florida, on a bill that includes A Wilhelm Scream, Pulley and Toys That Kill. The festival run continues October 24 at The Backyard at Boca Fiesta & Palomino. On December 12, 2026, he appears at Concord Music Hall alongside Face to Face, Sparta and Sludgeworth.
The episode opens with "Loud as Shit" by Rad Skulls and closes with "Underneath Ashes" by Lucas Perea.
