Stand Atlantic Drop 'NEXT2U' Ahead Of 'GODBREATH'
The new single keeps the album's love-song streak going, with 'GODBREATH' due October 23 through Hopeless Records.
Stand Atlantic have released 'NEXT2U', the latest preview of their upcoming album 'GODBREATH', which arrives on October 23 via Hopeless Records. The track follows the warm, affectionate tone that has run through most of the songs unveiled from the record so far.
Bright and breezy, the single leans on a sound that would sit comfortably in a turn-of-the-millennium coming-of-age film soundtrack, while still pushing the Australian band into slightly newer territory. It is built around the kind of hook designed to lodge itself in listeners' heads on first play.
Vocalist Bonnie Fraser framed the song as more than a straightforward romance. "This is definitely a love song", she said, explaining that the lyrics also deal with being away from home and from the people who make you feel good. She described the track as a tribute to those left behind while the band tours the world with close friends, and admitted it can be hard to stay present when part of you wants to be somewhere else.
'NEXT2U' follows 'EDGE OF VEGAS', another cut already shared from the record. With the release just weeks away, the band continue to roll out 'GODBREATH' one song at a time, sketching an album that puts affection and connection at its centre.
Stand Atlantic remain one of the busiest names on the modern pop punk circuit and one of the flagship acts on Hopeless Records' current roster.
