Slayyyter announces Wor$t Man In America, companion album to WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
The nine-track record arrives December 4 via RECORDS/Columbia and includes singles "brand new chanel$" and "crank 2"
Slayyyter has announced Wor$t Man In America, a new album framed as the brother record to WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, which she released in March. The LP is due December 4 on RECORDS/Columbia and is available for pre-order now.
The album collects nine new songs, including recent singles "brand new chanel$" and "crank 2." Press materials describe some of the tracks as direct inversions of the earlier record, with others revisiting familiar ideas from a new angle. The rest of the tracklist is made up of "$$$," "nekromantik!," "i think he's got a girl," "hey boyyy," "parking lot," "perfect woman" and "*hymn*."
The announcement follows her appearance on Never Enough: Versions, Turnstile's covers project, which also featured Elton John, Hayley Williams, Blood Orange, Alex G, Dying Fetus and Julien Baker. Slayyyter turned in a rough-edged take on "Birds" and performed it live for the first time in Atlanta last month.
Her immediate schedule keeps her close to that circle: on Tuesday (Oct. 6) she supports Turnstile at the University Of Kansas' Day On The Hill, and she then heads to Brazil for an appearance at Zig Festival this weekend.
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA topped Stereogum's list of the best albums of the year so far, raising expectations for the follow-up arriving less than nine months later.
