Riot Fest 2026 lineup brings Descendents, Bad Religion and Pierce the Veil to Chicago
The festival returns to Douglas Park from September 18 to 20, 2026, with Tool, Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil and Alanis Morissette headlining
Riot Fest has revealed the details of its 2026 edition. The festival takes place September 18 through 20 at Douglas Park in Chicago, the event's longtime home.
Four headliners top the bill: Tool, Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil and Alanis Morissette. Pierce the Veil's booking is the one that speaks most directly to the post-hardcore and emo crowd that has followed the festival for years.
Below the headliners, the lineup leans hard on the punk identity that has defined Riot Fest since its earliest editions. Confirmed acts include Iggy Pop, Bad Religion, Descendents, GWAR, Alkaline Trio, Social Distortion, Sex Pistols with Frank Carter on vocals, Public Image Ltd., PUP, Sugar, Bratmobile, Less Than Jake, Brian Fallon, The Chats, Guttermouth, Good Riddance and NOBRO, among others.
The full bill also features Patti Smith, Morrissey and Insane Clown Posse, continuing the generational and stylistic mix that has become the Chicago festival's calling card. Pairing 1970s and 1980s punk veterans with contemporary alternative bands remains the backbone of the programming.
Riot Fest is one of the largest punk and alternative rock festivals in the United States and typically announces its editions nearly a year ahead of schedule. More names are expected to be added before the gates open next September.
