Punk supergroup Pressure Set have released "Mutant Death Guide", a short and fiery new single pulled from their upcoming self-titled debut album. The record is out October 2nd through Dr. Strange Records, with the new song sitting third in the tracklist.

The album was pieced together in studios scattered across the globe rather than in a single room. The distance did not get in the way: the result is a cohesive set of brief, high-energy punk rock blasts, shaped by Gang of Four, Wipers, Hot Snakes and MC5, with nods to Descendents, Naked Raygun, Samiam, Meat Wave and Idles.

The band describes itself as a fluid, collaborative project rooted in friendship and creative freedom, and says it intends to keep that revolving-door approach going on future releases instead of locking in a fixed lineup.

Two live dates are on the books. Pressure Set are scheduled for The Fest in Florida on August 24th, followed by the Dr. Strange Winter Bash at Haven City in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on January 15th.

Pre-orders are open now. A limited-edition agave splatter vinyl is available exclusively through Dr. Strange Records, while digital pre-orders are handled via the band's Bandcamp page.
