Pressure Set have released their self-titled debut album, now available on streaming platforms, Bandcamp and on vinyl through Dr. Strange Records. The band brings together punk veterans from The Bollweevils, Bear Away, SPELLS, The Methadones, Sludgeworth and Violets.

The project started taking shape in 2024, when drummer Rob Burleson toured with Denver's SPELLS and met guitarist Dom Brining of UK band Bear Away. The pair discovered they had matching Rocket From The Crypt tattoos, and the collaboration followed. Daryl Wilson of The Bollweevils signed on next, his first side project since Landos 45, and his Chicago connections brought in bassist Simon Lamb (The Methadones / Sludgeworth / Violets) to round out the lineup.

The record is built on short, sharp bursts of high-energy punk rock, drawing on Gang of Four, Wipers, Hot Snakes and the MC5, with nods to Descendents, Naked Raygun and Samiam, plus newer acts such as Meat Wave and Idles.

While the four veterans form the core, the band operates with a deliberately fluid lineup and a revolving cast of friends and family, an approach the members say suits them.

Anyone heading to The Fest in Gainesville, Florida can catch Pressure Set live at The Backyard on October 24th.
