My Chemical Romance release animated short with Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish

"Prelude to the End" will screen before the band's final two Hollywood Bowl shows on Devil's Night and Halloween.

My Chemical Romance have put out an animated short film titled Prelude to the End, built around an unlikely voice cast that includes Phoebe Bridgers, Billie Eilish, game designer Hideo Kojima and actor John C. McGinley.

The story centers on Astrid, a boarding school student who tumbles down a garbage chute while hunting for her missing sketchbook and lands in a hidden world where forgotten ideas take physical form. Visual artist Lauren Tsa handled the illustration work, while the soundtrack uses a live recording of Pascal Dusapin's Flying River, Violin Concerto, performed by the Utopia Orchestra with Giuseppe Mengoli conducting.

The band will screen the film ahead of their shows at the Hollywood Bowl today and tomorrow, wrapping a five-night run at the venue as part of their ongoing tour behind The Black Parade.

Joining them for those final dates are two longtime peers from the scene: the Used and Thrice, both booked as special guests. The short is available to watch now.
