The Detroit melodic punk trio return after nearly two and a half years with a track released through Punkerton Records and handled by Chris Fogal.

Detroit melodic punk trio Middle-Out have released "Pipe Dream", their first new music in close to two and a half years. The single is out now on streaming platforms via Punkerton Records.

The track follows the band's self-titled debut album from 2024 and was mixed and mastered by Chris Fogal of The Gamits. According to the band, the song keeps the core of what Middle-Out do while pushing into new territory.

Lyrically, the single deals with the gap between the plans people make for themselves and the excuses that pile up until those plans fade out completely. Vocalist and bassist DJ Liden described a song about deadlines and obligations stacking up until intent turns into refusal, noting that "Pulling yourself out of a hole is physically impossible."

The comeback should not be a one-off. Middle-Out say they are already writing the follow-up to their debut album and expect to be in the studio soon to record it, pointing to a far shorter gap between releases this time around.
