Hot Topic turns Hollywood store into a Black Parade pop-up for MCR anniversary

Hot Topic has partnered with My Chemical Romance to mark 20 years of The Black Parade, whose anniversary edition arrives October 23 via Reprise Records. From October 1 through October 31, the chain's Ovation Hollywood location in Los Angeles will be converted into a full immersive pop-up built around the record.

The takeover leans on Keposhka, the fictional alphabet created for the band's tour and the world of Draag, which runs through the entire experience. Shoppers will find exclusive merchandise and collectibles, limited giveaways and a photo op with His Grand Immortal Dictator's throne. Qualifying apparel and accessory purchases come with a limited-edition set of Keposhka beads, while vinyl buyers receive a commemorative slip mat, both while supplies last. The store will stay open until 1 a.m. on the band's five concert nights.

Those dates close out the The Black Parade 2026 Tour, which wraps with five shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 21, 23, 24, 30 and 31. According to the announcement, the run makes the group the first band to play five consecutive nights at the venue.

Other Hot Topic locations will join in with storefront window clings featuring anniversary artwork by James Jean, who designed the album's original cover, expanded MCR merch and a limited-run shopping bag with Keposhka lettering. On October 23, every store hosts a listening party, the same day the Hot Topic-exclusive Tan & Black Galaxy deluxe double vinyl LP is released, now available for preorder. The album is certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA and appears on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
