Holding Absence share title track from 'Modern Life Is Lonely'

Holding Absence have released 'Modern Life Is Lonely', the title track from their forthcoming album. The song pairs post-hardcore choruses with lo-fi atmospheres before closing on a guttural passage described as the heaviest stretch in the band's catalogue.

The single lands after the record's release date was moved back by a few weeks. Vocalist Lucas Woodland said the group wanted to give fans something in the meantime and settled on the title track, hoping it would build anticipation for the full album.

'Modern Life Is Lonely' is now due on September 18 through Sumerian Records. The band previously previewed the record with 'Lucid Love'.

Later this year, Holding Absence will support Enter Shikari across Europe and the UK, with The Callous Daoboys also on the bill. The run opens on November 3 at Hamburg's Sporthalle and continues through Munich, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Brussels and Tilburg.

The UK leg takes in Nottingham, Cardiff, Hull, Glasgow and Manchester before wrapping with two nights at Alexandra Palace in London on November 20 and 21.
