Gossip Collar release second album Eaten Of Worms through Bat-Cave Productions

Gossip Collar, the Boston band featuring members of The Showcase Showdown and Secret Hearts, have released their second full-length album, Eaten Of Worms. The record came out on September 4th via the group's Bandcamp and is distributed by Poland-based label Bat-Cave Productions.

The band traces back to 2020, when singer-songwriter Victoria and drummer Megan started stockpiling atmospheric post-punk material during the pandemic, long before the project was public. Guitarist Tom and bassist Mark rounded out the lineup later, and the band played its first show in 2023. A self-titled EP followed, along with debut album Spinning Silk For Parasites in 2024.

Eaten Of Worms continues the group's dark wave and death rock direction, with nods to the 1980s London Batcave scene and acts like The March Violets and Skeletal Family. Opener "Disguise My Heart" begins in feedback and jagged guitars, while closer "Merchants of the Wave" leans on layers of reverb and phasing.

Synths and keys color the record throughout: "Haerisis" uses eerie toy piano tones, and "Dead Thing" pushes further into death rock with chugging guitars and synth beds. "Why Me?" opens with a cinematic soundscape before settling into a stomping groove driven by staccato strings. Victoria's vocals are largely whispered and doubled, buried in reverb, carrying much of the album's sense of dread.
