Fake Names have issued Punk Ruins, their third studio album, out now on Epitaph Records. The record is the first with drummer Mario Rubalcaba (Rocket From The Crypt, OFF!), who joins guitarists Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion) and Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace, The Faith), vocalist Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, INVSN) and bassist Johnny Temple (Girls Against Boys, Soulside).

Tracked at Chicago's Electrical Audio Studio with producer Matthew Barnhardy, Punk Ruins keeps the group's blend of D.C. post-hardcore and modern power-pop, with nods to 1970s UK punk and classic hardcore drive. Lyrically, the album picks apart political manipulation and the social neuroses of modern life while still treating punk as a form of salvation.

The sessions were fast. Baker says the band recorded twelve songs in five days and used every one of them, crediting the home-recording routine that let members work out parts in advance and send them along for tweaks before studio time. "This album is a collective expression," the guitarist said.

Fake Names will also head overseas for the first time as a band. Their debut European tour is set for January 2027, with stops in Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Austria and the United Kingdom. Tickets for the run are already available.
