Fake Names Drop "If You Could See Me Today" Ahead of "Punk Ruins"

The new single arrives with a video and previews the band's next album, out October 23 via Epitaph Records.

Fake Names have released "If You Could See Me Today", a new single backed by a music video. The song is the latest preview of "Punk Ruins", the band's upcoming album, scheduled for October 23 through Epitaph Records.

The track pushes jangle pop through the group's Washington, D.C. post-hardcore foundations. Crackling guitars sit on top of a gritty bassline while the vocal carries a lyric that looks back at what remains of a distant past.

Guitarist Brian Baker described the record as a session with no fixed route, calling it "a collective expression" and pointing to the fun of not knowing where the songs would land.

The band will take the material on the road early in 2027, with dates planned across Europe and the UK.
