DIIV share "Trillions", the latest single from ZIRP!

The heavily Auto-Tuned track arrives with a video in which the band wears expensive suits and fans itself with crisp $20 bills.

DIIV have released "Trillions", another preview of their upcoming album ZIRP!. The song is a computer-pop track built on heavily Auto-Tuned vocals, with lyrics about planning for financial success, name-checking a fast car, a boat and a plane.

The accompanying video leans into the band's shifting sound. The members lounge around glamorous, expensive-looking homes in sharp suits, fan themselves with crisp $20 bills and read magazine coverage of themselves. A fictional cover declares "DIIV GOES POP".

The pop turn isn't purely a gag. ZIRP! was recorded with A. G. Cook, and the band recently covered Charli XCX, another frequent Cook collaborator, at a show in São Paulo.

The album's press materials push the irony further, placing DIIV within a supposed "New Alternative" movement alongside Turnstile, Slayyyter and Eartheater, and describing the single as part of a genre invented for a streaming era of algorithms and AI, where a million plays is good and a trillion seems within reach.

"Trillions" follows earlier singles "The Fountain" and "Kid". No further details about the ZIRP! release schedule were announced alongside the song.
