Death Cassette share "Clutter" and set November release for "Cheaper To Die"
The Winnipeg grunge punk outfit will press the album on 'red with black smoke' vinyl through High End Denim Records, with labels in four countries handling distribution.
Winnipeg grunge punk band Death Cassette have released "Clutter", the second single taken from their upcoming album "Cheaper To Die". The record arrives on November 13th via High End Denim Records.
The physical edition will be pressed on 'red with black smoke' vinyl. Beyond High End Denim, the album is being handled by a network of independent labels: Pee Records in Australia, Engineer Records in the UK, Scene Police Records in Germany, and both Taco Cat Records and Punk Rock Radar in the United States.
"Clutter" follows the album's title track, which the band had already issued as the first taste of the record. According to the group, the new song leans into a pop punk feel, with lyrics about overthinking everything, particularly when it involves someone you have a crush on. They point to the line "Feels like my favourite show on repeat but you're stuck behind the screen" as the track's singalong moment.
The band describe "Clutter" as a step away from their usual approach while still sitting within familiar territory, comparing it to "Regrets" from their debut album. In a live setting, they expect the song to give audiences a breather from the mosh pit and a chance to dance and sing along instead. Death Cassette have previously shared stages with acts such as Pkew Pkew Pkew and PUP, and believe the single could connect with that broader punk crowd.
