Curse Words share "Safely From Satan", third single from concept album

Curse Words have released "Safely From Satan", the third single taken from the Washington, DC band's upcoming sci-fi murder mystery concept album, set for release via Punkerton Records.

The song picks up the record's storyline. It follows the Vagabond, a fugitive escaping the collapse of the so-called "City of Dreams" aboard an interstellar freighter. On this track, the character realizes the evil they were running from may have travelled with them.

Sonically, the band leans on quiet/loud dynamics in the vein of Pixies and Microwave, folding space-opera narrative and social allegory into a melodic cyber-punk framework. The result moves between restrained desperation and a screamed acceptance of fate.

The wider album deals with guilt, paranoia and an impossible pursuit of redemption, with every attempted escape pushing the protagonist further into danger. Each character aboard the vessel is meant to represent a different class of society watching the same downfall from its own vantage point.
