Comeback Kid set Chosen Hell for November 6 release

Comeback Kid have announced their new album. Chosen Hell lands November 6 through SharpTone Records in the United States and Dine Alone Records in Canada, with pre-orders open in both territories. It is the eighth full-length from the Canadian hardcore band.

The announcement arrived alongside the title track, which the group released with an accompanying video. The song places introspective lyricism over the heavy instrumental attack the band has built its catalog on.

According to the album's rollout materials, Chosen Hell holds onto the core elements that have defined Comeback Kid's sound while pushing their creative range further, folding in modern metal intensity, blunt punk energy and moments of more vulnerable melody that contrast with the band's usual foundation.

Singer Andrew Neufeld said the title track deals with moral decision-making. "The theme of the title track 'Chosen Hell' touches on morality and ethics," he explained, pointing to questions of right and wrong, healthy and unhealthy, and how often people fail to choose what serves them, ending up in situations that hold them back.

The artwork carries its own detail: the cover image documents a physical structure built by artist Callum Preston in Melbourne, Australia, rather than a digital design.
