Car Underwater drop 'Waiting (For The Rope To Slip)' ahead of US tour

The new track follows the band's debut EP 'Dagger Breaks Window' and arrives just before a run of US dates with Static Dress and I Promised The World.

Car Underwater have released a new song titled 'Waiting (For The Rope To Slip)', continuing the band's effort to tie the sounds of the early 2000s to a sharper, more modern production. The track is caustic and heavy while keeping melodies that stick.

It draws on the emotional earnestness that defined acts like The Used and From First To Last during the first decade of the century, filtered through present-day precision. The release further positions the group as one of the freshest and fiercest newer names working in the scene.

The song arrives after 'Dagger Breaks Window', the band's debut EP, issued earlier this year and home to '7 Seconds, 0 Decibels'.

Car Underwater are about to head out on the road across the United States with Static Dress, with I Promised The World also on the bill. The run begins on November 4 at The Shelter in Detroit and continues through Chicago, Minneapolis, North Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Berkeley, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, Dallas and Houston.

The second half of the trek takes in Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Greensboro, Washington and Cleveland before moving into December with New York City's Bowery Ballroom on the 2nd, Brooklyn's Elsewhere on the 3rd, Philadelphia's Underground Arts on the 4th and Hamden's Space Ballroom on the 5th. The tour wraps on December 6 at The Sinclair in Boston.
