brakence announced his new album marroW on Tuesday, with the record due in three weeks. The Columbus artist had already shared a single the previous week, and has now followed it with two more tracks: "crystallized" and "death rolL."

A central figure in the digicore scene, brakence works in territory that resists easy labeling, where hyperpop, emo rap and rock collide inside the same songs. He belongs to a post-everything generation of artists, pulling from 20th century source material while layering it with thoroughly modern production choices.

The two new tracks show different sides of that approach. "crystallized" leans toward blue-eyed soul recalibrated for the audience currently following artists like 2hollis. "death rolL," by contrast, is skittering and restless, blurring melodic rap, post-Radiohead alt-rock and electronic dance music.

Both cuts feature crisp production and vivid arrangements, with songwriting and performances full of personality — the qualities that have kept brakence in demand among listeners moving between emo, rap and electronic music.

marroW arrives three weeks after the announcement. Until then, "crystallized" and "death rolL" are out now, joining the single released last week.
