Ash have issued the 30th Anniversary Edition of 1977, the debut album that turned the Northern Irish band from teenage upstarts into britpop-era mainstays. The record, home to "Girl From Mars", "Goldfinger", "Kung Fu" and "Oh Yeah", returns in a substantially expanded form.

The edition is out now on double green and black 'Inkplosion' ecovinyl, double CD and digital platforms. The CD and digital versions pair the original album with four additional tracks, among them "Bittersweet Blue", a long-lost recording that had reached near-mythical status among longtime fans.

Those formats also include a live set captured at STABAL Studios in 2021, where the band played 1977 from start to finish and added further favourites from the same period. The vinyl pressing takes a different route, combining the original record with a curated run of B-sides drawn from the album's era.

The release lands in the middle of the band's global 1977 tour. Ash have already taken the album to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong, and are currently working through dates across the UK and Ireland. Full tour listings and tickets are available through the band's official channels.
