The UK artist joins a roster that includes Holding Absence, Boundaries and Static Dress, unveiling new tracks 'Hype Man' and 'Triggas'.

Ando San has signed with Sumerian Records, the label whose roster also features Holding Absence, Boundaries and Static Dress. To mark the move, the artist released two new songs together as a double A-side.

Ando said he had followed the label since he was a teenager and described the signing as a major milestone, adding that it is "only the beginning". The deal caps a stretch of momentum built through the singles 'Thick Neck' and 'iLL' and a guest turn on PRESIDENT's track 'Hate Figure'.

The first of the new cuts is 'Hype Man', which welds black metal guitar work to a heavy grime beat. Ando pointed to Darkthrone's 'Ravishing Grimness' as the direct inspiration for the riffs, and said the title came from having to psych himself up while writing alone in his room.

The second track, 'Triggas', features Mazbou Q and digs into personal trauma and emotional triggers. Ando explained that learning to recognise those triggers helped him move through difficult periods, and framed the song as part of that process. The production stacks heavy synths, metal guitars and a UK drill beat, in line with his stated aim of chasing originality by blending whatever sounds right to him.

Ando San is also set to open for Don Broco across the UK alongside Unpeople. The run begins on September 27 in Watford and continues through Lincoln, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cambridge, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Norwich, Folkstone and London, wrapping up on October 14 at The Prospect Building in Bristol.
