The Suicide Machines play "Destruction by Definition" in full in Miami
The Detroit band brought its 30th anniversary tour to Churchills Pub, with Austin hardcore punk act Mugger opening the night.
The Suicide Machines stopped in Miami on the 2026 tour marking three decades of "Destruction by Definition", their debut album. At Churchills Pub, the band played the record front to back, revisiting the sound and spirit of the '90s era that produced it.
Opening duties went to Mugger, a hardcore punk band from Austin, Texas, which joined the run for the Nashville, Atlanta and Miami dates. The group's set was loud and fast, warming up the room ahead of the headliner.
Jason Navarro and company opened with "New Girl", one of the album's best known tracks, and the crowd responded immediately, singing along and skanking in the pit from the first notes onward.
The pace never dropped over the course of the set, moving between upbeat ska passages and the harder punk sections that have defined the band since the beginning. The anniversary show turned into a full ska-punk party, the same format the group has been taking from city to city throughout the tour.
