Something In The Way 2027 lands JAMC, Turnover, Wednesday, and Trapped Under Ice
The Run For Cover-organized festival returns to Boston's Roadrunner from Feb. 4-6 with a bill spanning indie rock, hardcore, emo, and shoegaze.
Something In The Way has revealed the lineup for its 2027 edition. The annual Boston festival, put together by the crew at Run For Cover Records, takes over the Roadrunner from Feb. 4 through Feb. 6, with The Jesus And Mary Chain, Trapped Under Ice, Turnover, and Wednesday sharing headliner duties.
That pairing gets at the whole point of the event, which has built its reputation on stacking different strains of guitar music on the same bill. This year's installment was topped by Sunny Day Real Estate and Explosions In The Sky.
The rest of the bill runs deep. Meat Puppets, Jejune, Krill, This Is Lorelei, Incendiary, Nothing, Model/Actriz, Gouge Away, YHWH Nailgun, Armlock, Knumears, Trauma Ray, Wellness, Racecourse, Holder, and Dream Fatigue round out the three days, covering indie rock, shoegaze, hardcore, post-hardcore, emo, screamo, and the overlaps between them.
Beyond the main event, a pre-show at the Sinclair will feature Modern Baseball's Bren Lukens performing solo, plus Georgia Maq and a career-spanning acoustic set from Wicca Phase Springs Eternal. An after-show is also on the schedule, though organizers have not announced who is playing it yet.
