Nice As Fuck reunite for first show in a decade
Jenny Lewis, Erika Forster and Tennessee Thomas kicked off their reunion run in California by playing their only album front to back.
Nice As Fuck are back onstage for the first time in ten years. The trio of Jenny Lewis, Au Revoir Simone's Erika Forster and the Like's Tennessee Thomas played the opening night of their reunion tour on Thursday (Oct. 15) at the Ojai Deer Lodge in California, following the run's announcement last month.
For the occasion, the group performed its 2016 self-titled record in full. That album remains the band's only full-length release, and it has just been reissued — a move that lines up with the group's return to the road. Footage from the show has since circulated online.
The project originally came together as a meeting point for three musicians from separate corners of the American indie world, built around a stripped-down setup of bass, drums and keys. After the 2016 release and a short stretch of live dates, Nice As Fuck went quiet while its members focused on other bands and solo work.
The California date marks the first time the three have revisited the project in nearly a decade. No new material has been announced in connection with the reunion, which for now centers on the reissue of the debut and the tour dates that follow.
