Goldfinger packs Hollywood Palladium with guests and original members

The Hollywood Palladium hosted one of the deepest ska punk bills in recent memory on August 22, 2026, with Goldfinger headlining a night that also included The Vandals, The Suicide Machines, Pulley and Sullvn.

The Suicide Machines marked the 30th anniversary of "Destruction by Definition" by playing the record's seventeen songs, closing with their take on Minor Threat's "I Don't Wanna Hear It." Aggrolites drummer Chris Borbon is handling the kit on this tour and stepped up to sing "Face Values." The set wrapped with "DDT," from follow-up album "Battle Hymns."

Pulley leaned on older material such as "Second Best" and "Working Class Whore." The Vandals split their set between 1990s releases and 1980s staples "Urban Struggle" and "Anarchy Burger (Hold the Government)." NOFX drummer Smelly filled in for the busy Josh Freese, and the band played "The Moron Bros." before closing with "I Have a Date," sung by Warren Fitzgerald.

Goldfinger walked out to the 1970s "Superman" theme, played on horns by Dan Regan and Scott Klopfenstein, then launched into "Spokesman" from 2002's "Open Your Eyes." The promised surprises arrived at the halfway mark: El Hefe of NOFX joined for "Open Your Eyes" and "Linoleum," Reel Big Fish's Aaron Barrett came out for "Sell Out" and "Superman," and original members Darren Pfeiffer and Simon Williams returned for "Anxiety," "Answers" and "Mable." A cover of Nena's "99 Red Balloons" closed the night, complete with 99 red balloons released over the crowd.

San Diego's Sullvn opened the show with a laid-back ska set that included covers of "Tears of a Clown" and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' "The Impression That I Get," with Aaron Barrett guesting.
