2027 rock and metal festival and cruise season takes shape with Emo's Not Dead on board
Early announcements include ShipRocked, 70,000 Tons of Metal and artist-led sailings from A Day to Remember, Creed and 311.
The 2027 rock and metal festival and cruise calendar is already filling up, giving fans an early look at where to spend their travel budget next year.
The opening months of the year are traditionally slow for land-based festivals, but they're peak season for themed cruises. Confirmed for 2027 so far are ShipRocked, 70,000 Tons of Metal, Emo's Not Dead, Monsters of Rock Cruise and Cruise to the Edge, each offering a different angle on the format. Alongside those, Creed, 311 and A Day to Remember are each heading up their own sailings, continuing a trend of bands curating entire ships around their fanbases.
On dry land, early 2027 is starting to take shape as well. Sonic Temple is coming together, the Mojave Experience is set and Maryland Deathfest will mark another year of underground programming.
For the pop punk and emo crowd, the Emo's Not Dead Cruise remains the key date. The event just wrapped its 2026 run and is already among the confirmed outings for the next cycle.
More announcements are expected throughout the coming months as promoters lock in dates and lineups. For now, the early slate spans everything from nostalgia-driven cruises to extreme metal festivals, with full bills still to be revealed.
